We are a small group of students trying to make a difference in this big world by not only reducing invasive phragmites in our urban area, but finding uses for them, "post-cut." We are middle school students from the Christa McAuliffe School (P.S #28) in Jersey City, NJ. We named our team, Phrag Attack and we are a group from our school's student created stem initiative called Project Reservoir. Kaylee, Angela, and Karishma are the members in the group.
We will be successful in limiting phragmites with a variety of natural recycling methods including opening up public green space through their removal. We also seek to educate our community and beyond through various forms of media and outdoor events to increase public knowledge about the dangers of phragmites.
