This past weekend (November 15th) we taught 2 classes from P.S. #3 and P.S. #23 about us and what we are doing to help the community. We brought the two classes to Reservoir #3 and broke up into two groups. At the reservoir they participated in a scavenger hunt and collect Phragmites and Fall leaves. After returning from the reservoir we showed them our cartoon video about our project to give them insight about who we are. Then we asked them to recreate our newest project, Phrag Flowers, or they could make their first name letter with phrags. It was very successful! The kids had a great time in their recreations.
We hope to have this much success in the upcoming classes and have others across the world use and modify our concepts to reduce the population of phragmites
