On November 22nd we taught 2 classes from P.S. #30 and P.S. #34 about us and what we are doing to help the community. Just like every week we taught we have some sort of a different schedule. This time we started out teaching the kids in the school first. Just like our normal routine we showed them our cartoon video about our project to give them insight about who we are. Then we asked them to recreate our newest project, Phrag Flowers, or they could make their first name letter with phrags. It was very successful! At the end of the day we brought the two classes to Reservoir #3 and broke up into two groups. At the reservoir they participated in a scavenger hunt and collect Phragmites and Fall leaves. The kids had a great time in their recreations.
We hope to have this much success in the upcoming classes and have others across the world use and modify our concepts to reduce the population of phragmites
