Working and teaching students how to make phrames
We got the opportunity to do some arts and crafts with children from our school during the summer of 2014. We decided to weave phragmites to make a frame. It was a really fun and exciting experience.
We worked with 6 classes over the course of 2 days. One eighth grade class, two seventh grade classes, two six grade classes and one fifth grade class. Over 180 students learned and benefited from our phragmites creation. We will also provide a step-by-step guide, as well as an instructional video for all others around the world to have the opportunity to create Phrames and at the same time assist in removing an invasive species from their local environment.
